The newly hired Patriots head coach and the Eagles receiver have a tight bond nowadays, but when Vrabel’s Titans drafted Brown with a second-round pick in 2019, it wasn’t all smooth sailing during team meetings.

With Mike Vrabel having spent a season with the Cleveland Browns, there was always going to be a risk he would poach an assistant or two at his next head coaching job.

The Patriots filled out the masthead of its coaching staff with a well-seasoned group that has deep roots across the NFL.

Vrabel has a mix of experience and youth on his Patriots coaching staff, including Doug Marrone, Thomas Brown and Ashton Grant on offense.
