Dre is a mentor to Kendrick and was a special guest at his ‘Pop Out’ concert in Los Angeles last summer, where he performed many of his tracks that take aim at Drake, and he is a huge fan of his Grammy nominated hit ‘Not Like Us’. The sold-out show broke attendance records for the venue.

After Kendrick Lamar’s career had seemingly peaked, his Grammy-winning smash scored him the most prized gig in the biz as the first solo rapper to headline the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Dre joined the debut episode of interview series The Unusual Suspects With Kenya Barris and Malcolm Gladwell on Thursday (Jan. 30), during which he publicly voiced his support for Lamar’s “Not Like Us” knockout blow and said he didn’t appreciate Drizzy speaking negatively on Kendrick’s family throughout the battle.

After winning Grammys for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, the rapper's next stop is the Halftime Show in New Orleans.
