Belk, a clothing and accessories retail store, is planning to close its doors at their Town Center mall location in February.

Belk would stay there until 1979, when the store moved to Independence Mall. The building will be torn down when the library moves into a new facility with the Cape Fear Museum in 2025 or '26.
