The San Diego Zoo welcomed a newborn Linné’s two-toed sloth on Feb. 8, the first of its kind to be born at the zoo since June 2022.
San Diego Zoo to celebrate National Panda Day with giveaways
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The San Diego Zoo is gearing up for a day of celebration in honor of National Panda Day on Sunday, March 16, 2025. In a special tribute to the beloved giant pandas, the zoo is inviting families to visit and enjoy a variety of fun activities, including giveaways and photo opportunities.
Koalas, a dik-dik and sloth bears: These are the newest baby animals at the San Diego Zoo
Gaylene Thomas, a wildlife care manager at the San Diego Zoo, oversees two teams that care for a variety of species, including leopards, tigers, hippos, giraffes, deer, the giant pandas and red pandas. Among those animals are also some of the zoo’s newest babies: twin sloth bear cubs and two koala joeys.
San Diego Zoo Celebrates National Panda Day with Giveaways, Special Offers
The Zoo will be celebrating National Panda Day on March 16. and the first 2,000 kids (ages 11 and under) who visit Denny Sanford Panda Ridge that day will receive a pair of panda ears to get into the spirit and honor these beloved bears.
