The picture quality should be similar for the other screen sizes available in the range. Checking screen uniformity by displaying a 5% brightness slide gives a dark centre to the screen with bright edges.

It does have the usual LCD technology traits of clouding and blooming when viewed off-axis in dim surroundings, and the colour and gamma shift is noticeable when not watching directly onto the screen.

TCL C845 vs. Hisense U7K. The TCL C845 is an almost identical TV when it comes to features, set up and technology, plus, at the time of this review in August 2023, it is £500 cheaper. The C845 was set to the Movie mode and the Hisense U7K was in Filmmaker Mode for this side by side comparison.

From 2021 to 2023 TCL used two chipsets: "RTD2851M/RTD288o" for their lower end 4K60 / HDMI 2.0 models and the "MT5889/MT9615" for their higher end 4K120 / HDMI 2.1 models and those launched on Android TV 9 and Google TV 11 respectively.
